Meet Me in Paradise by Libby Hubscher

genre: contemporary romance

Marin isn’t a traveler- she’s a homebody. Ever since her mother passed away, Marin’s self-appointed role is that of sister-protector, keeping the home fires burning while her sister Sadie lives a crazy adventurous (and, in Marin’s opinion, too dangerous) life. When Sadie schemes a girls trip to the Caribbean paradise of Saba, Marin only decides to join in to get some time alone with her beloved younger sister. Before the plane even lands, though, Marin is dealing with chaos. Sadie misses the flight and a handsome stranger has taken her seat. It’s too much for Marin to handle - or is it? Maybe paradise has some lessons to teach Marin about living life to its fullest.

So, this is super fluffy and readable. The writing is fine and I was eager to see what happened to Marin, her handsome stranger and her sister Sadie. But there are a lot of plotholes that were annoying and little details that grated on me - not enough to spoil it but too much to give the book any more than 3.5 stars. I will say, also, that I loved this portrait of a sister relationship that is complicated and that things didn’t always happen the way that I thought they would so in the end, it was satisfying enough.

That's a great premise for a romance novel!
