So You Want to Talk about Race by Ijeoma Oluo (audiobook)

genre: non-fiction

This is a really important book.

Not just because the author is succinct and powerful.

Not just because it gives me, as a white person, a new set of vocabulary to help me process and begin to unpack my privilege.

Not just because of the both anecdotal experiences shared and the broader concepts that are explained.

But because it teaches you where to start, how to START TALKING and thinking about real race and racism.  And beyond how to start having (and having again, and messing up, and trying again) conversations, how to start ACTING.  How to show up even when it is uncomfortable.  How, as a white person, to just BE QUIET AND LISTEN ALREADY and not discredit the lived experiences of People of Color.

Probably every white person needs to read (or listen to this great narrator read) this book.
