Spell Bound by Rachel Hawkins

genre: young adult urban fantasy

Spell Bound is the third book in the Hex Hall triology (read Hex Hall and  Demonglass first).  Really, they are quite fun.  Go read them.

After a quick introduction for those who hadn't first the first two books during the last two days, we are off again with Sophie, Archer, Jenna and Cal.  Things are getting freakier by the minute as it becomes more and more certain that everyone's worst fears are about to come true.  Sophie learns ever MORE crazy stuff about her family and her love life becomes even MORE complicated and yet she still retains that smart aleky attitude and tendency to do the right thing even if it makes life a whole lot harder.

This series was like a giant wonderful cone of cotton candy.  Yes, it is fluff, but MAN was it good fluff.  Sophie's point of view in this story was just always entertaining, there are plenty of twists and I like that Sophie is true to the people she cares about (loved the resolution of the love triangle, even if I did sorta see it coming).  Her urban fantasy world is opulent (I think by this book it has totally come into its own) and has enough action to keep me turning pages.  I read this one and the previous book in a day each.  And they were not empty days, let me tell you. It was just too fun to find out what was going to happen next.

Sometimes fluff is exactly what is called for. I'm glad you enjoyed these books.
