A Rogue of One's Own by Evie Dunmore

 genre: historical romance

Lady Lucie has a grand scheme.  As a devoted suffragette, wants to gain ownership of half of a London publishing house so that she can finagle a way to actually get some feminist ideas out into the hands of women readers.  She's foiled, however, by Lord Ballentine - a man she's been deeply irritated by since she was a child.  How will Lucie and her fellow suffragettes overcome the nonsense of yet another man who has maneuvered into their way - and why in the world does Lord Ballentine need to own part of a publishing house?

Yes. It is a steamy romance novel with a suffragette protagonist.  And it's a delight :). If you don't like the steamy scenes you should skip over them but Lady Lucie and Lord Ballentine are both passionate people who dislike the role that society has given them.  They make mistakes, they shake their fists at the world, they find in each other a strange connection - that Lady Lucie most especially has no interest in.  I liked the time period and the entire suffragette cause, it is powerful to think about how far women have come since these days - but also very frustrating that it took so long to get so little.  This was a nice palate cleanser for me, historical and romantic and witty.
