When Hannah gets a strange note from her husband Owen - and then he never comes home that night - Hannah knows that something is exceptionally wrong. When news breaks about a scandal at his work and Hannah's bonus daughter gets her own strange communication from Owen, it's clear that if anyone is going to figure out what's happened to him, it's going to have to be Hannah.
The Last Thing He Told Me is a mystery, a search, a piecing together of a story through snippets of memory and wild guesses. It did NOT go where I thought it would, moved quickly and was interesting enough to keep my attention from beginning to end. Is it repetitive? Yes. Way more than was necessary to help me remember important details and that was annoying. But I liked Hannah figuring out how to be a stepmom. I liked how Hannah's backstory played into how she handled things. While not perfect, this was a fun escape. 3.5 stars.
