genre: contemporary romance
Cindy's last year at design school did not end well. Despite her passion for shoes, the the grief from loosing her dad finally hit her in a way that slumped her creativity and left Cindy in a rut. She needs SOMETHING. Just as she's prepared to spend a summer as a nanny for her younger half-siblings, she gets a crazy opportunity to be a contestant on a reality tv show (a la The Bachelor). Could THIS be the thing Cindy needs to turn her life around and find her creativity?
Oh, it's a rom com! With: a plus size main character, a handsome Prince Charming, all the awkwardness of reality tv and a fun twist on the typical Cinderella tale. It was a fast and fun read for me - even if it felt a little forced sometimes. I'd love to read a rom com with a plus size main character who is NOT obsessed with fashion, but in this story, it totally works. I did not see the end coming (yay!) and I appreciated Cindy's arc as a woman who knows she's capable.
