Wool (Wool #1) by Hugh Howey

genre: science fiction

Underground is safe.  Underground is known.  Even imagining life outside of the silo is a bad idea.  There is only one reason anyone should go outside and no one should want it.  Until someone does.

This novella actually surprised me.  I didn't mind that it wasn't super deep or with incredible character development - it's like 60 pages long!  But it interested me and kept me guessing.  I've read enough dystopia/post-apocolypic novels that nothing really surprises me anymore but I would've kept reading long past the ending.
