Flavia de Luce's summer has gone by since she helped solve the mystery of the dead man in the cucumber patch. Little does she know, another bit of excitement is coming her way in the form of a sobbing woman in the churchyard, a roguish puppeteer and a vaguely mad lady up in a dovecote. With her ingenuity and chemistry know-how, Flavia will once again prove that she is the brightest thing in the village of Bishop's Lacey.
Oh Flavia. How I adore you. The moment I finished listening to The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, I had to beginning listening to your next adventure. Delightful. That's the only word for it. Mild suspense, great mystery, the elementary beauty of chemistry saving the day, Flavia's cheek and inner monologue - I love it all. It's so fun to see the old characters and to meet some new ones. I am finding myself a VERY huge fan of this series.
