Yeah, I know it drives some of you readers crazy, but the word verification is back on. How many comments full of Chinese characters does one blogger have to put up with?
I have mixed feelings about w.v.-- when I finally decided that the funny or relevant were nice additions, (and would sometimes type them at the bottom of the post where post-type would allow)it made all the nonsense or truly creepy sounding ones have more weight with me than THEY should.
Now, I admit, I sometimes keep hitting preview without typing until they give me one I like.
I suppose I'll start throwing salt over my shoulder next...
*sigh*
w.v. = finisbi (but looks like finishi. First try, though.)
I have a spam catcher on my blog. I don't think it's available for blogger though. Too bad. My spam catcher works really well on my personal blog but on my book blog it thinks almost all comments are spam, and I have to rescue them. I guess it's not perfect either!
I don't have it on, but I do approve posts before they come up. I don't mind word verification. The words crack me up. Like the one for my reply is ovaters. :)
I've noticed that some of the blogs I subscribe to that haven't been active in a few months are starting to get spammed. Word Verification isn't the wooooorst thing in the world. :)
I just delete notifications when the comments are clearly spam, and when 20 of them have built up, or when I finally get a serious comment, I go in an moderate the mass of them. It's way easier to publish one and "select all" then reject the rest than rejecting them as they come in, one or four at a time.

I just happen to LOVE when the word verification is funny or relevant or close to a real word.
No more Chinese characters for you! :)

Enjoy! Where you can, that is.

LOL. That's why I keep it on. (amazingly enough, I still get spam, although not quite as much...)
(taling is my word)
