Classics Challenge Wrap Up
Trish reminded us over at the blog that we should do our wrap up posts for the first Classics Challenge. What a great experience I had! Here's what I read:
1. So Big by Edna Ferber
2. Very Good, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse
3. The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
4. Silas Marner by George Elliot
5. The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Bonus:
6. The Invention of Hugo Cabret - Brian Selznick
It was great times. I got to laugh my ever-lovin' guts out (Jeeves), finally read a book I SHOULD have read in junior high (Silas Marner), delved into some mental issues and came out unmarred (The Bell Jar), I took an incredibly lovely journey into old time Chicago and some of the most beautiful writing I've ever experienced (So Big) and had some witch-trial times with enough romance to make it thrilling (Witch of Blackbird Pond).
Was one my favorite? Honestly, I could never decide! I liked them all for wonderfully different reasons. Most beautifully written? Toss up between So Big and Silas Marner. Most creative and interesting? Hugo Cabret, hands down. Try this book! Made me actually weep tears of laughter? Jeeves. Truly, TEARS, people!
I loved this one. I want to do it again, for sure, as long as I can find some to fit in with the way too many challenges I've already roped myself in for :) This one definitely spread my reading wings, thanks Trish!

I loved Hugo Cabret. Don't you feel like you wish your little girl were just a year or two older already so they can enjoy so many more books? I can't wait!
I love Silas Marner and The Witch of Blackbird Pond! I'll have to check out the others--especially Very Good, Jeeves. I love a good laugh!
Great list of books. The only one I haven't read is the Jeeves (but I'm delving into Wodehouse in 2009). Congrats on finishing!
Congratulations on finishing your challenge!
Oh, I love your books. Just a couple I haven't read, but the others are some of my faves. YAY!
Congrats Girl. After seeing your review, I got myself Silas arner :) and another factor was it was so small a book :)
I'm so so so thrilled that you had such a great time with this challenge!! I'll definitely hosting again next year, but probably in the middle of the year since December is too tough for me.
I can't tell you how big my smile is right now--I love your enthusiasm!!
